Constructed with a sculptural totem profile, the Volcanic Alabaster Floor Lamp stacks hand-carved Spanish alabaster geometric forms atop a weighted metal base. Internal LEDs illuminate the translucent stone column from within, highlighting unique natural veining while casting a soft, warm 360-degree ambient glow. Before you order

Will the veining on mine look like the product photos?

Not exactly. Each stacked geometric form is hand-carved from genuine Spanish alabaster, and the veining you see running through the stone is entirely natural — no two totems, and no two stacked segments within a totem, will carve up identically. The photos show the general character of the stone and how it glows when lit, but expect the specific pattern on yours to be unique.

Does the light shine through the stone itself, or just out the top?

Through the stone. The internal LEDs sit inside the alabaster column and illuminate it from within, so the translucent stone itself becomes the light source — its natural veining is backlit and visible, and the glow wraps 360 degrees around the totem rather than beaming from a single point or opening.

At up to 74.8″ tall, is this stable enough to not tip over?

Its stacked stone segments sit on a weighted metal core base built specifically to anchor a tall, top-heavy column like this. Even so, at this height it’s worth giving it a clear, out-of-traffic corner — a seating nook or reading corner rather than a busy walkway — and setting it on level flooring rather than a soft rug that could let it shift.

How different are the two heights in person?

More than a size bump — the Totem (∅11.8″ × H59″) reads as a standard floor lamp height suited to most living rooms and reading nooks, while the Monolith (∅15.7″ × H74.8″) is genuinely architectural in scale, better suited to a foyer, an executive office, or a room with higher ceilings where it can act as a true sculptural centerpiece rather than just a light source.
